Claire-Anne O’Brien is a textile designer and lecturer living and working in London. Specialising in constructed textiles she creates sculptural, 3 dimensional knitted fabrics for interiors. Traditional textile techniques such as weave, knotting and basketry inspire playful investigations into structure and form using the unique properties of knit. The studio produces a range of knitted wool furniture as well as bespoke commissions and fabric development for commercial and private clients.
Originally from Co.Cork, Ireland, Claire-Anne O’Brien graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2006 with a degree in Textiles. She then went on to complete an MA in Constructed Textiles at The Royal College of Art in 2010. She is now a lecturer in Constructed Textiles at Bath Spa University.
